RISKS VS. REWARDS .......Aggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Here's the scenario: As of last evening there was NO sign of mold ...everything was nice and white. This morning the face of "gray mold" reared it's ugly head. I think the contributing factor was that by error yesterday, I sprayed the tub walls with a bottle of water that has been sitting around for about a month and is used for other purposes - as I normally spray with a bottle of 10-1 ratio of H2o2. So I think therein lies the culprit. Since the mold was so fast to appear and there was no evidence of below the suface spread - could anyone tell me (definatively) if safe to ingest? If not I'll serve to mother-in-law in cream of shroom soup. Please let me know as I hate to pitch away some good mushies....yea I know they were some skinny little mex. cubes - but was doing some experiments with some various teks. Thanks for your time and sage advice. -Peace-

the mold was already there yesterday... it's been there for days...

molds, just like mushrooms, have a germination stage, a mycelial stage and a reproduction (spore producing) stage...

as for safety issues, i'm not sure that a contaminated casing will alter the mushrooms, smarter people than me will have to answer that one...

as for the mold, are you sure it is mold and not just a slight discoloration?
try rubbing it with a white papertowel and see if it rubs off onto it

if you're trying to insinuate that i'm the smartest guy on the shroomery, well, how could i argue with that?

but i'd be wrong... agar, mjshroomer, yourself, i could name a dozen more people who know more about shrooms than i do who post here regularly.... i'm just a student at this, not a professor...

Thanks for the info !...Prisoner - I really can't do a "rub test" since I have lready properly disposed of container and content into the dumpster. The affected areas I believe was more than dis-coloration. But was only on the surface and hadn't spawned into the substrata? I still have the mushies on a drying sceen. ??? To eat or not to eat - that is still the question? Thanks !

the ones in that pic look fine to me...

of course, if you eat them and turn purple, i look real bad saying that...

plus i'll have to buy a tux for your funeral... do you know how much a tux costs?

but seriously, they're probably fine... find someone really brave to test them is what i would do...
