Believe it or not, it's up to you. Visualize finding them and chances are you will. Mind power is a very interesting subject.

you should get some better pics, I'm not quite convinced those are cyans. they look pretty robust, I know all the ones I saw yesterday were on the small side, compared to what you find in peak season. those caps on the left of the second pic don't really resemble cyan caps to me either, color or shape. that's definitely a nice score if they are indeed cyanescens though...

really? I think they look exactly like them.
I agree, the coloring of the cap is kind of light in a few shots, but that pinshot... I dont know what else that could be!

I dunno, the caps on the side look too hemispheric, I don't see cyans that large with underturned, bell shaped caps like that.
the gills on those mature ones look really light to me as well, and the fat stems. I'm not sure either way, but they just dont look like typical cyans to me. could just be the pics I guess...

new guy whos never posted posts super findings in wrong time of year. fact or fiction? it is up to you. the beholder to decide. choose wisely. i donno the pics are kinda blurry they could be Agrocybe elatella, or praecox. id like to see some bluing.
if the photos are real than its obvious by the plants that it was taken in the spring. galerinas grow in the spring. g.marginata and g. verna can look like that in a fuzzy pic taken on am coudy day. tho not usually wavy its not an impossibility.
why not take some close up pics of stem bluing and really blow people away if those are cyans you should have no problem with this. if you do they just arent cyans

good call. the blueing would seal the deal.
they do look alot like them to me... but there is strange circumstances, and questionable coloring..
on with the blueing!

Looks like Shennanegans has been called, better get some good pics or be beat with a broom.
They look like cyans to me too, I thought I saw some bluing in that third pic but a decent photo could put all this to rest.

They certainly were huge. The largest of them had caps 2in. in diameter and some of the stems were almost 4 in. long and very thick, hollow, fiberous and bruising very blue/black. When I pinched the cap it turned green then blue and the gills were very light colored. The spore prints are dark brown on tin foil and when the spores are mixed with water the water turns purple. They are growing in a place where there are large heaps of wood chips dumped and quite a thick layer of wood chips and leaves on the ground. I think their size has somthing to do with the abundance of wood chips. Certainly very huge.

I ate a bunch and got nice n special. Good stuff. see new pics. Also, researching the FAQ, detailed ID spec. for Cyan. These match 100% Only thing we haven't checked is the spore size. Prints are perfect. We got a late winter here.

That's the best I can do for now. I'll go to the spot tomorro and take better pics. I was using a disposable camera so the pictures arn't the greatest quality.
