air exchange with humidifier

I have a humidifier going 15 min every 2 hrs. do i still need to fan?

depends on which humidifier you use, if you have coolmist run it 24/7..and that will provide good air exchange
if you use ultrasonic you will have to fan it since it doesnt provide air exchange like the coolmist.

i use ultrasonic. I have a fish tank airpump, will this be enough so i do not have to fan?

An ultrasonic wont provide you any air exchange...sounds like thats what your using with that timer. If not you should provide a hell of a lot more details like....hmmm EVERYTHING. How the hell do people expect help with 16 very short (some abbreviated) words..

what else do you need its an ultrasonic humidifier with a terrarium that goes on 15 min every 2 hrs.

The kind of terrerium, the mehtod of humidity, the method of air exchange, the size of chamber, the humidity of your place, cakes or casings...all make a difference.

with the setup you got now, you'll be over humidifying the mushrooms, especially casings and especially if its a small chamber and if your in a humid place. If its larger and its for cakes and your in a dry place, then humidity might not be a big problem, if theres no fog. Either way, you have no method of air exchange, so you'll need one. Fanning just 1-3 times a day wont be enough with that pumping in fog for 15 minutes and nothing pushing the fog out.

cakes, terrarium is 36x18x18, ultrasonic running 15 min every 2 hrs, 60 gallon tank air pump, right now its pretty dry but summer it will get humid where i live. Any thing else?

Ah ha!...see more and more info comming out. You got your air exchange comming from the air pump, not the humidifier. The humidifier is your source. 3x1.5x1.5 feet isnt to big, so this should be plenty for cakes...maybe a bit humid for casings but would probably work for that. When it gets more humid, watch for solid fog sitting in there and to much moisture. You dont want the chamber to be foggy, just very humid. Check it every day or two and mist as needed, should only need to peek, fan and mist once every day or two (if at all) with that setup. Just cut the timer back if it gets to humid and leave the pump running 24/7.
