Filming the sky at night!
    #4065237 - 04/17/05 10:18 AM (19 years, 3 days ago)

Hi,
I'm in the process of setting up a UFO website.

One thing we will be doing is getting high quality footage of the night sky. The purpose is, of course, for recording possible E.T activity.

I won't have any probs setting up the site but I know very little about video recording. I do know that most home camcorders are no good at focusing on the sky at night.

Can anybody suggest a video camera that is good at / designed for filming the night sky?

Depending on how important this hobby is to you, it might not be worth it to invest in something professional if that's what your asking.....how much money are you lookin to spend on this?

Yeah,
I don't want to go over board as I have limited funds at the moment but I could spend upto $1000. I'd prefer to pay less though.

Functionality is the most important thing. It needs to be ale to pick up and focus on the low light of stars etc

Don't be silly!

I can record plenty for myself, I've seen enough of them.

Get the largest lens you can afford. Bigger lenses = more light gathering capability. I don't mean the widest angle lens you can find, I mean for the type of lens you want, get the largest. Those small camcorders are cool and compact, but the problem with them is their small lenses. The small size renders them useless from dusk till dawn.

Other than that I can be of no real help to you. Good luck.
