 Great buckets of H/Poo

As a side project I filled up these 1 gallon buckets with 4 inches H/poo, spawned with WBS and let sit in a clear rubbermaid. Just fanning once a day or twice if I could make it, and misting of the walls. No casing layer. Turned out to be pretty effective, and also the white bucket walls had some interesting effects!(oops on that one) It's not pretty, but it sure works. Nothing new here, just relaying what works in a pinch.

wow kool... I might try poo sometime... I bet it's stinky though. Where I live TONS of cow farms... they give there cow shit away for free... fresh! lol

was the poo pasterized or leached?

Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

Really interesting Diver. Been keeping up with this and your thread about just using dry vermiculite on the bottom,sides and top of poo. How do you go about rehydrating between flushes. Dunk?

Hippiechick, I only surround in dry verm after a complete dunk (4-6 hours). I'll try that with these buckets, but they weren't dunked yet or anything. Just first flush w/ nothing done to them.

Didn't print these, should have but I don't think PES Hawaiian is worth the effort, unfortunately.

Get some horse manure and leach it. I have a full container that I recently shoveled right from a horse boarding facility and I can tell you that there is absolutely no odor. None! I was a little skeptical to smell it at first, but I soon realized that leached horse poo has no scent. The horse manure was already leached in the recent heavy snowfall.
