Fruiting Chamber Height
    #4069062 - 04/18/05 03:19 PM (18 years, 9 months ago)

Hello, this is my first attempt at growing mushrooms. I have 8 fully colonized 1/2 pint jars, using PES Hawaiian. And im ready to put them into a fruiting chamber, the container i was going to use is one of those rubbermaid totes, my concern is that it is only about 6" high. Will this be enough verticle space, or will i have to buy a larger tub? I was planning on casing 4 of the jars, and fruiting the other jars normaly. Also, if height is an issue, can i cut the cakes in half thus doubling the number, but reducing the height of them? Thanks.

Considering 2-4 inches of perlite/geolite in the bottom for humidity, then 2-4 inches height of the cakes/casings, dont you think unless your planning on some really short mushrooms that thats a bit to small?

Anyone looking to start bulk tubs/mono tubs/shotgun hybrids? Good tubs to use..
How I do grain (old still good tips)
Turn your closet into a fruiting chamber
