1 hr on 1 hour off?
    #4068960 - 04/18/05 04:52 PM (13 years, 2 months ago)

Would 1 hr on 1 hr off work for ligthing the terrarium as opposed to 12 on 12 off?

1 hour on and 23 off works so of course this would too. The question is how optimal is it. Since your not replicating nature, chances are it wont work out to 100% optimal. It might be better then to much heat from a light on 12 hours straight. Either way it will "work".

Anyone looking to start bulk tubs/mono tubs/shotgun hybrids? Good tubs to use..
How I do grain (old still good tips)
Turn your closet into a fruiting chamber
Casing layer colonization and overlay

Im going to catch some heat for this but i think that built in lighted terrariums are a bit in excess for what cubensis needs. I give mine about 7 minutes a day florescent light, especially during and just prior to pinning, and I have no problem with them orienting themselves perfectly.
Believe it or not.

midway, that sounds perfectly reasonable to me. The only reason I have a light going more is so I can look at the tray often. It has nothing to do with the fruiting.

The reason for light intensity isnt orientation, its heavy pinsets. I havnt seen any setups with a light on for less then an hour per day for the fruiting cycle with solid fruits across the casing. I'd like to see some though if anyone has any...

DITTO... what SCAT said

Timer 12/12 on/off in pinning stage.
Reduced to 8 on 16 off in fruiting stage.

13 watt compact screw in fluro

7 watt incandesent (exterior Cristmass type)

One single bulb in set ups like this.

SOME RESULTS BELOW

Ah i see...ignorance on my part. My pinsets have always been reasonable but not as thick as some that i have seen...now i know why!!
thanks

SO the more light on the Intial Pinset the better ,.The SLowly reduce the amout of light as the grow cycle continues..

Not the more the better...24 hours isnt really good even for primorida formation IMO. I dont think it'll really hurt much, I just dont think that over 12 hours of good intensity of light is going to do any good. But I think a good straight 12 hours is needed for dense pinsets...
