Grains/ediables
    #4064344 - 04/17/05 01:04 AM (18 years, 9 months ago)

I've got extra wbs sitting around...Pc-in it now...

I might have sum jars left over and I was wondering if i could knock them up with a lc syringe that i've got...

I'm pretty sure it'd colonize....I was just wondering if i could and then spawn it to some oak dust and chips...then plant in something (probably jus a pot w/ plastic wrap over it)....and then lightly case it with something.,...maybe some leaves i donno

Don't really care about failure rates, just wanna try something new i guess

I've got lots of SRA Lc and wanna try it out....I've got a log and stump colonizing right now

Thankx in advance

The LC inoculation of WBS should work great! If you're talking about King Stropharia, spawning to sawdust/chips should also work well. If you're talking about an indoor grow, an improvised casing with natural material (leaves, soil, etc.) might work, but you may be better off doing an outdoor grow, where beneficial microorganisms are more prevalent. I've never heard of an indoor King Stropharia grow though, so try both if you like, but I wouldn't sterilize your casing layer. Good luck man.

I've heard of King Stropharia, but i'm not sure what it is...lol

I'm talking about "wine Cap"...SRA (donno the full name)

I just wanted to use WBS as spawn to wood chips/dust...And I wasn't sure how it'd work...

thankx

Alright, I'm pretty sure wine cap is synonymous with King Stropharia or Garden Giant. All are Stropharia rugoso-annulata. Yes spawning WBS to sawdust/chips works great with this species.

Again, the only thing I'd be careful with is the casing as SRA is said to require an "unsterile casing" to promote fruiting--this may be more difficult to achieve indoors.

Good luck, let us know how it goes!
