Keeping Bhang.....

Anyone want to estimate how long they think some bhang would last unspoiled in the fridge?
I'm thinking of making some one night this week and then putting it in the fridge overnight and drinking it in the morning early, but I'm somewhat concerned with it going bad. Not completely sure why, I just have a natural caution when it comes to mixing heat and milk and not drinking it immediately. I mean it wouldn't stay hot long, before going in the fridge, but still...
I'd just make it in the morning, but I seldom feel like cooking things up that early and I really just want to relax and sip on some pre-prepare bhang. Plus I'm kind of curious as to the taste of chilly bhang.

In a nutshell. There's a ton of different recipes and ways to do it though. Here's one adom posted a while back, but there's a lot more:
Quote:
2 cups water 1 ounce marijuana (fresh leaves and flowers of a female plant preferred) 4 cups warm milk 2 tablespoons blanched and chopped almonds 1/8 teaspoon garam masala [a mixture of cloves, cinnamon, and cardamon] 1/4 teaspoon powdered ginger 1/2 to 1 teaspoon rosewater 1 cup sugar
Bring the water to a rapid boil and pour into a clean teapot. Remove any seeds or twigs from the marijuana, add it to the teapot and cover. Let this brew for about 7 minutes. Now strain the water and marijuana through a piece of muslin cloth, collect the water and save. Take the leaves and flowers and squeeze between your hands to extract any liquid that remains. Add this to the water. Place the leaves and flowers in a mortar and add 2 teaspoons warm milk. Slowly but firmly grind the milk and leaves together. Gather up the marijuana and squeeze out as much milk as you can. Repeat this process until you have used about 1/2 cup of milk (about 4 to 5 times). Collect all the milk that has been extracted and place in a bowl. By this time the marijuana will have turned into a pulpy mass. Add the chopped almonds and some more warm milk. Grind this in the mortar until a fine paste is formed. Squeeze this paste and collect the extract as before. Repeat a few more times until all that is left are some fibers and nut meal. Discard the residue. Combine all the liquids that have been collected, including the water the marijuana was brewed in. Add to this the garam masala, dried ginger and rosewater. Add the sugar and remaining milk. Chill, serve, and enjoy.
Of course most of that is just for flavoring.

you mean a bhang-lassi.
bhang/bang is just another word for hashish/charas (but i have heard it used for mj as well).
and a lassi... somewhat like a smothie. kinda popular at some places in india.
there are loads of different recepies and the one youve got seems a bit complicated. its not nessecairy to boil or cook all of it but you can. the idea is that the fat from the nuts will go into the liquid and absorb the thc.
personally i prefer to make the actual lassi based on youghurt/curd that milk. (with the milk and masala in your recepie makes it look more like a chai/tea).
so make the thc compound, (as usual, by slightly heating the mj in something fatty) let it cool. mix into some frech fruit juice, or slush of crushed berries, or rosewater with honey, or just plain water cooked with some spices (cinnamon, cardamom, saffron, etc). mix it to taste (thickness) with some cool curd/yoghurt, usually something like 1:2 - 1:5 ; mj + tastemix:yoghurt.
this kinda mix usually benefits from spending some time in the fridge as it makes the tastes go together better. alternatively, if you want to avoid/hide the mj taste... mix in the taste with the youghurt, leave it in the fridge for a few hours... then mix in the mj just before you drink it.

it won't last long if you've made the lhassi properly - nor should it - it's meant to be consumed fresh.
and the recipe you have there seems a bit strange - much more like a bhang-chai than a bhang-lhassi.
regardless, it'll get you stoned out of your gourd. just make sure to say some prayers to Shiva beforehand

So I'll tell you what i did, and for fear of once again proving my vocabularial miseducation I'm just going to refer to it as 'Marijuana Milk'.
I filled a small sauce pan with whole milk. Turned the burner a little past medium and put it on. Added two and a half tablespoons of sugar, a small pinch of cinnamon, some finely chopped almonds, and then finally an estimated amount of marijuana, roughly equivalent to the contents of a rather large joint. Cooked it in this manner for 10 minutes or so, put it back in the milk carton and set it in the fridge. Drank some this moning and started my 4-20 off with a bhang, so to speak. I'm drinking some more right now and it still tastes fresh and delicious. Pretty effective stuff, I kind of underestimated the amount of marijuana needed, but I still remained pleasantly, yet not overwhelmingly stoned, for the majority of the day.
Cheers everyone.
