Mutation?
    #4065198 - 04/17/05 11:54 AM (13 years, 9 days ago)

growing hawaiians, and I have lumps of mycelium growing on all the tips of all my shroom caps on one of my 6 cakes. Bad genetics or bad growing conditions?

neither. its a good sign to see mycelium growing on the caps. lets you know your humidity is high

Oh, damn, I thought that was due to low humidity and I mist the fuzz away.
I guess I need to do more reading.

Not to intentionally contradict you, but mycelium growth on mushroom bodies is generally regarded as a sign of excessive humidity. Although the mushroom grower strives to maintain relatively high humidity, there is such a thing as it being too high. Excessive humidity can promote contamination and the rotting of fruitbodies.

Therefor, I would drop your humidity a little.
