what is the common shroom usually used for pizzas at well known pizza places such as dominos, papa johns or pizza hut?

No harm can come from questioning. "Best" case scenerio: You prove it right without relying on the fact that it is widely accepted. Argument strengthened. "Worst" case scenerio: You realize you might have been wrong. The new answer might or might not be what you want to hear, but it beats defending yourself with bullshit.

This mushroom is definitely "widely distributed in North America" . . . by trucks, most of which were loaded up in southeastern Pennsylvania. Agaricus bisporus is so common that its common name is simply "mushroom." It is cultivated by mushroom farmers to the tune of $800 million each year, during which the average American consumes 2.2 pounds of mushrooms!

No problem.

Portabella and Crimini are also varieties of Agaricus bisporus. Many people assume that these are different species, but in reality they are just three different varieties of the same species of mushroom.

You can get an Argaricus Bisporus grow kit at alot of nurseries that end up being cheaper than buying the mushrooms, but it might be cheaper still to start your own full grow.
