If your using the PF tek, then you can just boil the jars in a large pot. but you need a Pressure COoker to do grains (which yield MUCH better).

this is also true. I used the microwave on my first grow and had wazzo results all the way through. Bit tricky not drying the substrate out too much though, but a lot quicker and easier than boiling/ fractional.

you could experiment w/ fractal sterilization to sterilize grains. i've heard it mentioned but never heard of anyone using it.
it involves boiling jars, letting them sit a day, boiling them again, letting them sit a day, boil again. pressure cookers are used to sterilize grains because they operate at a higher pressure (so higher temperature) than boiling, killing endospores that generally won't die from the lower boiling temperatures you get using a pot to boil the jars.
fractal sterilization allegedly lets the endospores in the grains germinate and then be destroyed by boiling again and again after letting the jars sit for a while. invest in a pc...they are cheap at wallyworld. i got mine for $25 and it fits 4 pint jars...its a bit small but it is 100% better than pf tek.

interesting about the fractal sterlization. do you by any chance have a linkage to something about it?
and also, has anybody tried this method: http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/7928
if so, worthwhile?
thanks for all the answers everybody, much appreciation

i explained what it is above...if you need more info on it do a search at the bottom of the page. i don't know much about it other than what it is, i heartily recommend purchasing a pc.
