Baeocystin

As most of you know, the primary "active ingredients" in mushrooms are psilocybin, psilocin, and to a lesser extent, baeocystin and norbaeocystin (among others). I've done a lot of searching, and the most detailed info I've been able to come up with relating to baeocystin is that its effects are "similar to psilocybin".
Does anyone have any information about the specific effects of baeocystin?

On a personal note, after experiencing A species that had double the amount of beocystin that cubies, and boy, did I trip HARD off three freshies.
So, I'm guessing it's some sort of visual stimulator. I definately had stronger feeling of being connected with god, and definitely more willing to be connected, even at such a low dose. I got more and more visual as the night went on, but the visuals peaked before my mushrooms did. I took the third freshie after this, and noticed a return of the more "visual" component of my trip. BUt by the, I was pretty much flipped out and was trying to get god to tell me the secret of Pi, so I wasn't really too into noticeing any silly physical effects
I did act a little crazier, but I guess that's a good thing...
I can taste those freshies in my mouth just thinking about them...
So anyway, that's just my personal experience. Hope it was helpful.

the secret is that the number equates to the ratio of the circumference to the diameter of any circle.
i have no firsthand experience but do recall reading that baeo' has more of a negative alkaloid effect on your muscles. This could mean the "heavy feeling", depressed breathing, skin flushing, and muscle twitches/spasms/seizures. Seems I read this in an identification guide that touched upon p. baeocystis(sp?).

I thought i read once that baeocystin decreases in the mushies with time. So to eat fresh ones would allow a person to experience baeocystin effects more than dried mushrooms...
is this correct...
Ive had that question for a while but never thought much of it

i believe you're refering to P. Baeocystis-- "potent psilocybe." definitely not a cubensis strain.

He remains this way for about three hours, making bizarre noises, pretending to be a new species that must learn to walk and talk and eat, etc. And he communicates with other life forms by way of the antennae on his head. Eventually we jam a tube from a waterbong into it's mouth and figure he's learned all he needs to know.

You're looking for a shroom w/ high baeocystin content, P. Baeocystis may be what you're (understandably) getting confused with because the name is so similar - but that's a red herring; seek out P. Semilanceata, or Azurenscens:

Both of those are best suited to an outdoor environment, and are both difficult to cultivate.

red herring n. 1. A smoked herring having a reddish color. 2. Something that draws attention away from the central issue.
and why would you want to seek out p. semilanceata? my understanding was that liberty caps aren't particularly potent....

Killer!
At about .35%, your mind odda taste the baeocystin in that - but because of the super high psilocybin content, it may be difficult to pinpoint.
This is why I imagine that the semilanceata would be better, if what you're trying to do is to attempt to differentiate baeocystin "vibes/magic/effects" from psilocybin: the beaocystin content is very high in semilanceata, while the psilocybin:baeocystin ratio is a helluva lot closer than in the azurescens - which should make it easier for you to have a better chance of noticing any difference in the feel of the trip due to baeocystin.

It's a figure of speach, refering to something that is misleading.
"The idiom alludes to dragging a smoked herring across a trail to cover up the scent and throw off tracking dogs."

You may want to seek semilanceata if you were interested in testing/verifying whether baeocystin had any noticible difference in effects compared to psilocybin. P. Semilanceata ( damn that's a bitch to spell! ) is reported to have the 2nd greatest baeocystin content of the psilocybe shrooms.

B+ reportedly have more baeocystin, every time I used to eat these I'd get this strange ass head-buzzes, felt like I was about to yawn then my head would just spaz out, almost like the feeling of having an muscular orgasm in your brain, kinda weird, I haven't heard many others report anything like this in their trips other than at really high doses but this would be after peak and more towards the middle of plateauing.
I never got that feeling from other strains so I attributed its effects as a result of baeocystin. It was mildy entertaining, but a bit startling too...imagine someone sticking a vibrator deep inside your ear lol
