And belladonna sends yet another to ICU

My friend rex went into the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) last night for an overdose of brugmansia flowers... He's checked into dominican hospital (if MJ can get any information since hes so pro at that kind of crap), they said his condition is critical and they dont know how he is going to do. My name was on a list of people he was with him when he took them so I was just phoned by an officer. I just got the call 10 minutes ago, or I wouldn't be up this early. This really sucks, those flowers are horrible. I wish kids wouldn't be so stupid.

he just wanted to know if the other kids that were with him were ok and that they made it home safe, one of the kids dads hadn't seen his son in like 5 days and no one really knows where he is after last night. the kid whos in the icu hasn't ever even smoked pot, hes one of those kids whos kinda new to the scene, drinks but hasn't done anything else, and is one of those kids who would do/eat/smoke anything anyone hands him, so that he can feel like he fits in. It is very sad, ive known this kid since 8th grade, I hope he doesn't die.

My mum was given belladonna when she was a little girl, her father was a psychiatrist and gave her the wrong pills for a headache or cold. I can't remember the story exactly as she told me it a few times, but this was when i was young and living at home.
She said she had a really nice trip, she saw little men walking around everywhere and cleaning her house. But she also saw her childhood hero, a cowboy of somesort murdered by his American Indian side kick.
Nothing to do with this, though i thought i would share.

That is very sad. I hope your friend pulls out ok. I will send some universal energy that way. My friends mom also takes some form of belladona for headaches. Though im not sure how they are doing for her . You've got to be carefull with these type of drugs. Natural they may be. Deadly they are in high doses . We need more awareness with such hard core Natural's .

I was there when they were eating them, they ate the bright orange ones, the most potent of the brugmansia species IMO. Rex had like 4 or 5 in his hand, and I warned him that was a high amount and that he shouldn't attemp eating them at all. He only ended up eating 2, but that was enough obviously. Some of the other kids there ate 5 and they are fine.

Shows how unpredictable these things can be. You just never know, which is why you should be careful.

Holy shit, that is just not cool. This sounds like those rare E cases that cause liver failure. Some people die from e from water or heat, but those are scary in comparision to this acute liver failure that occurs oddly in some individuals.
Everyone is different, some people have really strong bodies, while others do not. I would have to say take it easy with drugs, and of course less common ones and less common for a damn good reason!

another victim of the war on drugs... shit makes me sick... if it werent for the 'just say no' approach he might have realised that different drugs have different effects...
alot of peaple are scared to talk about drugs to minors. id say here a reason to NEVER refuse to awnser a drug question especialy to minors... since the parents have been immobelised i guess its up to us...

Was it belladonna or brugmansia?

bruggie flowers... still, a massive OD of scop isn't that much safer than a massive OD of atrop... & none of 'em is 100% one single type of tropane alk anyways... bruggies, dats, mandrakes, belladonnas... all can be useful meds, but all gonna be pretty dangerous tripstuffs, eh?

Nonono...
Doctors are always quick with the permanent psychosis thingie. If he comes through *physically ok* then it's a week or a month or so and he's a happy camper again. It is common, on Datura/Brugmansia, to get INTENSELY PSYCHOTIC during the drug effect but to completely recover in the days or weeks afterwards. Don't let them stuff him in the mental ward with a ton of drugs: its usually very temporary insanity.
Brugmansia sanguinea
*sighs* A prayer to him. If only he had said no to Datura and yes to a Shroomery Drug Education
Severe poisoning nontheless is fatal in "only" 8-12% of cases. Please make an effort to make sure nobody you know will eat Datura again and educate them about more acceptable drugs.
Wish you all the best man.

one wonders if there are any safe nutrients or herbs which could ameliorate (sp? ) the neurological damage (synaptic cleft?) at the cellular or membrane level? lecithin, DMAE, hydergine, SAMe, y'know, the regular suspects... ... i wunner if a decent googlesearch: ("atropine amnesia reversal mmmmph?") naaaah... ymmv...
