So a tire exploded....

So I was driving home from work on the interstate and the car ahead of me blew a tire....Huge chunks of rubber flying everywhere....
I thought I dodged them all with some wild swerving, then this one piece comes whirling at my car spinning like a frisbee and nails my front fender. It sounded like it glanced off, and I was late, so I kept going. Well, I get to work and theres this HUGE like, inch thick black rubber mark on my fender. Its a silver car, so it looks all fucked up...
Anyone know how to remove this shit?

Razor blade and elbow grease? It should just come off with some hard scrubbing. My brother rear ended a Jeep Liberty one time and the spare tire on the back crunched his hood and left nasty tire marks (although the marks were the least of his worries). It came off after he scrubbed it hardcore.

Go to AutoZone or your favorite automotive chain and buy some rubbing compound.
The man at the counter might have some suggestions too.

that really sucks, I had the same thing happen to me on a lame beige oldsmobile, it still looked like shit though. I could never find a way to get it off. Good Luck.

yeah right, this is hot rubber burned on through friction. sopa and water with uncounted hours of effort, mabey, but not likely. If this is anything like what happend to me, which it sounds almost identical, it's gonna be a trick to remove.

If rubbing compound doesn't work, get some fine grit sandpaper (like \ 200 or 300).
It will ruin your finish, but that's what wax is for. Just be careful not to rub all the way through the paint.

rubbing alcohol will certainly melt your finish. Try mechanical methods before using dangerous chemicals.
