radical idea, opinions sought

A FOAF has some non-pinning cases. Approaching 14 days now, no pins, lots of mycelium on surface, probably overlaid. Mycelium is still bright white but seems to have thickened, no longer fuzzy and growing. Just static for the most part.

Considering - cold shock and/or deep cutting.

But foaf had an idea i thought he'd run past people. One of the cases is a clear rectangular tupperware, wrapped in foil on sides to prevent light. The casing is 1/2 verm on bottom, 1/2 coco fiber on top. Peeling back foil, she can see that the mycelium has ALSO grown down into the bottom part of casing - the verm. Since that is not exposed to the air the way the coco is, she was wondering if she would get a better "new cropping surface" by literally flipping the existing casing into a new container, placing the overlaid coco on the bottom and exposing the moister, hopefully fresher verm surface as the new top. Radical huh? Stupid???? Thought this might be a viable alternative to deep cutting existing coco surface. Opinions?

if it is overlaid then you need to take out some chunkes of the mycelium from the top/deep cutting, fill those in with more casing, add another full casing layer, and do something productive with those chunks of mycelium ; ) that bottom layer of verm was like a waste basket for the mycelium, all of the myceliums waste fell down there and i dont think that it would make a very good casing layer, and if you flipped it over then there would be no waste basket and the mycelium would get sorta waterlogged and not the way youd like it.

it begins with an "m" and ends with an "ushroom"
