ok so i saw that post that agar made as well as a few others regarding store bought poo. this happens to be what i have and now im worried that i might have wasted $7 on it which i could have easily gotten something else that might be more useful than 70 lbs. of shit that doesnt work for bulk!!
one bag i have has total nitrogen of 0.5%, Available phosphate of 0.5%, and soluble potash of 0.5%. the ingredients are " a balanced blend of composted cow manure and organic humus". in the other bag the only difference is that the available phosphate is only 0.3% rather than 0.5%. also it doesnt say anythign about humus being present but there are definately like wood chips in there or something. so please tell me is this stuff of any use at all or did i waste my $7 and should slap myself.

I used this and it worked all right. Not as good as h-poo but, in a pinch, it'll do. I mixed with verm and straw and pasteurized it.

Why not? Although from poultry and not as optimal as going out and getting your own. Works pretty good IMO. My best friend uses the same thing you've got there (cow manure) and it works good. Potent sumbitches too!    :

Don't forget. Organic humus is decomposed plant and animal matter. Good +'s for the mixture.

Yes, while the bagged cow manure with compost or whatever is not ideal, from what I understand, if you pay attention to the brand you get (say, a bag from a locally owned landscaping shop that's labeled as organic manure, compost, with the ingredients listed) vs. a Walmart brand, you're probably better off with the former. Regardless, cow poo is not a good texture for myc to colonize. You need a more porous/spongy material (I believe agar mentioned something akin to loam?). Anyway, if you get bagged poo, you have to add straw, and most likely verm, and mix it well, so you get a consistency that approaches h-poo. No, it's not the greatest, and yes, you may get a bad bagged brand that sucks. But it will work, just choose carefully and supplement it.

So thats whats going on there..makes perfect sense.
I'd add some worm castings (10%), some straw (25%), some coir (15%), some verm (20%), and then use 30% that shit. Maybe. I have no idea if that would work, but thats probably what I'd do...

Nope, only a frugal guy who tried a lot of differing bagged stuff & wasn't happy with the results. It peeves me to waste lots of good WBS/RYE, prep & PC time making good spawn, then use it & have the substrate go to asshole stinky hell quickly or shortly afterwards.
