kitteh, I would be interested in where you might be looking around Clemson. I have never looked around here, but am in the area for the summer as well this year. I usually go back home to the lower state to look in a couple of 'safe' places I have around there that I am sure they grow in.(Marion/Florence area). PM me if you would like to discuss some spots...

Picked two more cubes here in york last night. They weren't very big, but I'm experimenting with their substrate on my back porch...Things seem to be going nicely so far.
These upcoming few days of rain should help out and really get the fields popping. I just hope the weatherman is right.

Nothing but a lot of horse pastures down here in the Charleston/Georgetown vicinity... And nothing but inactive Pans.
On a side note, I drove down a road toward a pasture yesterday, went to make a U-turn, and this truck tried to block me off the dirt road... I barely made it past him, and noticed from my rear-view mirror that he was taking pictures of my car as I drove off... Scary shit.

I am just up the road from you, cowfields all over. I havent found any, even the poop I take is full of paneolus pins. No cubes. I notice right away tho, it's no wonder all the farmers around here are pissed off. All of the fences on every field is torn up O yeah, My yard is on what used to be Marden Ranchetes, it is full of meadow mushrooms. Keep huntin'

i got a problem with the cow dung ive been experimenting with, every night i check them there are slugs and rollie pollies and the like all over the pies, now i would assume that sort of activity would be a naturally occuring thing ...but i was wondering if any one knew if those little guys could potentially cause problems....?

Yep, I got some 'speriments goin' on too. I got a couple outdoor beds. I've made some posts and have been talking with [sterile] about this. I've been looking at different insecticides, I have found none that suit my purposes. Anything that could be useful is high priced and hard to get a hold of (well, nothing's really hard to get a hold of on the net) Anyway, yeah my pies are absolutely full of millipedes (there the redworm lookin things with lots of legs). Not only that, but the ants keep stealing my bird seed transfers, lol. What is working best for me right now is the poop I have aging in a heavy weight white plastic bag, which has been sitting in high heat and moist conditions. They are now showing signs of pins other than Coprinus. Also, the cake-like at the bottom is totally consumed in myc. So, I'm thinking I'm right in that they are not up here quite yet. They need more hot days to colonize. Should be very soon now.

Let the saturday morning results come in... I heard a ruckus aproaching my field, to find a bunch of farmers chasing down a hollerin' cow Seriously tho, I feel bad for the guy. Here it is 7 am sat, he's gotta go get his stock under controll. His fence is F#&^*%@ed!, the whole perimiter. It's sad ppl, no wonder we can't get a decent spot, there are enough for all, just please respect other pples properties. BTW, this would be a good time to ask a q that has been nagging me. These farmers were black guys. Are there a lot of black shroomers? South Carolinians, I would like to hear your feelings on this.
happy hunting

w00t! I found mycelium patches all over my yard and maybe 10 mushrooms in a circle yesterday from the rain. I unfortunately had my yard cut in the afternoon, and they cut them up. But this morning I went out and found two sepertate mushroom species. I'll post pics soon.

Yeah, stopped by the field on my way home from work. Found what I thought might be a cope, but no, no cubes here either.

I bet they're big light colored caps with pink gills. Those would be meadow mushrooms.
