Air Flow to Control Humidity
    #4056620 - 04/14/05 11:38 PM (11 years, 7 months ago)

Do I increase the amount of air my pump is pumping into my fruiting chamber to reduce humidity? Or do I decrease it? My humidity is mid 90s but i want it to go down to the proper humidity for casing. So how do I reduce humidity in regards to air volume control?

I control humidity by controlling the amount of fresh air introduced into the chamber. Generally speaking the more internal circulation (if any), the more fresh air you'll need to introduce to keep the humidity down. In small chambers, internal circulation is optional.

I think you guys misunderstood. I have a air pump pumping air through two bubble wand type air stones. I have a control on my pump that lets me decrease and increase the amount of air being pumped into the container. Do I increase the air volume or decrease the air volume going into the container to decrease the humidity?

just use your brain a little man. is the air you're pumping in at a lower RH level? then pump in more and it should lower the humidity...

use my brain? dude, the more air i pump into it, the more the air wand wicks the perlite and therefor water particles into the air, thereby INCREASING humidity. right? so maybe its a little more complicated then you initially thought?

yes the bubble wands help to wick water to the perlite, but the water isn't going to evaporate off the perlite as fast as the air is being pumped in there. seriously dude, come on...
