I am sure you all get a million of these. But I am a total newbie. I have never done mushrooms. I am interested in growing some for my own consumption but am overwhelmed by the wealth of information and sellers of methods. Also all of the strains.
Which strain should I attempt first? I see alot of the B+ talked about. Also I have a reasonable amount of money so I am more likely to buy some sort of kit, does anyone have any recomendations? I already have an unused fish tank sitting around and was wondering if that could be used with a kit like this mushroommagic.com

Dont buy a kit, purchase everthing seperatly, you will do just fine without a kit. Any PC strain is fine. It depends on the fishtank size, but, yes it can probably be used. Your best bet is to go with normal PF cakes boiled for one hour or pressured cooked, birthed after full colonization into a perlite humidification chamber, and then if successful a few batches, move into casings, then alternative substrates, then spaw, agar and all that fun stuff. I'm not going to bad mouth them but I will be honest. I bought a mushroom magic aquarium kit and it was a waste of money. Also the instructions that came with it caused my first crop to fail because of their recomended microwave time. If you harve some $ it would be much better spent on a pressure cooker. Just take some time, read up on some of the teks and set up that aquarium to meet your needs. The search option here can be of great help w/ questions if you need more help private message me. Oh yeah, the hawks eye recamends Thailand Koh Samui , Thailand Lipa yui and P.C. equadors for rookies. good luck!

ello ello........hey so glad to here that the mushroom is pullin at your spirit........they have enlighted me in more ways then one...i a newbie too at growin them but i did use the magic mushroom growers guide from the vaults oof erowid site.....3.2 version.......i started with 12 caakes aand well had no contaaminations and yeiled a small harvest of fruit with some really happy and enlightning trips......i highly recommend this guide and following it to a tee for the first timer....unless you know about casing and things like that.....but anyways....the mushroom is a teacher....keep you mind and sould open and let itss knowledge elevate you to another level of love and light.....good luck to ya.....peace n love
