So I bought a derby
    #4056013 - 04/14/05 08:26 PM (12 years, 6 months ago)

They say its always darkest before the dawn and though this is probably always true in the geological realm of physics and earth rotation it is not always the case in the soaking rainfall of life we walk through so often beaten, chins down, shrugging off the onslaught of hail and gray and mud.

But sometimes (this being one of them) things do turn around just before the final curtain and man what a contrast that provides for the whole goddamn meal, when sour meets sweet, the sweet is sweeter, you've all eaten sour patch kids, you know what I'm talking about.

so yeah, I bought a derby, and the derby symbolizes a glimmer of hope that will some day soon pierce through the cloudy mundane feelings of unworth and betrayal and split the mist canyon wide and further til all there is is beautiful blue and the vivid colors of this marvelous world.

I don't think I've ever heard someone describe the purchase of head gear phrased so eloquently or poetically. My hat's off to you, Sir!  :handth:

Doobie, you crazy right-winger. Why don't you go to a national convention, or something, and bet on the winning horse.

awesome doobs! good to hear how well you feel about the purchase

--------------------
Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.---senior doobie

I haven't worn my bowler in a long time, nor my fedora. nor my Mad Hatter top hat. le sigh.

edit:

p.s.

from several years ago when the fedora was fairly new and not really broken in brim.

yay for old (dorm) pics with long hair. (I'll disregard the ones with my bowler since it's been represented in this thread already by Sr.)

eh, what the hell...Mad Hatter style:
