Good deed of the day thread.

Well, I should hope you do much more than a single good deed a day. But if you have one that's spectacular, post it here! Nothing like reading a thread of spectacularly good deeds to find motivation for one of your own. I'll start.
I was at a park late at night on DXM. I ended up talking to a drunk homeless person, I asked her if she believed in God and she did so right away I knew we understood each other. I think I commented on the stars' beauty, and then I left her with saying "best wishes" and she had a real big smile on her face. But that wasn't even me, it was energy flowing through me and I was just the puppet. I could barely talk I was so high, and I guess I was connected with the cosmic energy.
Ohhhhhh, so I guess it was the cosmic energy and not me. Well I tried, now it's your turn...
Oh and this is spiritual, because the motivations are spiritual. Living well is a matter of spirituality.

heh, one night me and my friend went around talking to homeless people on E. we seemed to be really cheering them up as well
i've not really done any great deeds, but a few minor ones here and there.

I don't know if I can say that me spreading my positivity all the time is considered a good deed. I'm always asked why I smile so much. I can make any one of my employees who is having a bad day, smile. I make it a point to try and make others feel as good as I do...no matter what kind of situation they may be going through. I do this for them..not for me. Then again...when others are happy, then I am...so maybe it is for me after all.

of course spreading positivity is a good deed! i'm glad you're one of those people that smile all the time, i love people like that. i try to be one of these people as much as i can, but sometimes its hard.
Anyways, i don't think i've done a good deed today yet, i haven't seens anybody, but i'm seeing my gf tonight, so my good deed of the day will be to give some good sexual healing and lovin' to her!
on a sidenote, i heard that making love at least three times a week can lengthen your life expectancy of up to ten years!

Hey, I don't want to stay at home in front of my computer when I'm on DXM. I am now. Hmmm. But I want to get out there in the world! Experience what there is to experience! So much to choose from!
Yeah I'm one of those people too, who are always happy. Well, usually happy. Making those around you happy is one of the best deeds you can do, so congrats. That's what I do, I spread the love, and talk the spiritual talk to those who would listen. Awakened individuals can find each other in a croud, you know? There is a connection, and when you meet somebody like that, or somebody who is open to that, and talk about the universe it really brightens up your day. And theirs. Love 1, hate 0.

What does DXM have to do with being "awakened"?

A good deed becomes tainted once you have congratulated yourself on it. Good deeds should be done and not spoken about, for they lose their selfless purtiy once you claim them for your own.

?
/is confused.
So essentially it's only good if we our selves don't recognize the nature of the event? Selfless purity to a human born in a world unpure by nature, is utterly ridiculous. We should be happy as a result of our good deeds, should we brag about them? I don't think that's important so much as the action was done, not how we think in respects to it. Ghandi could've patted himself on the back left and right, as could MLK, sure, we might think that they are arrogant pricks, and conceited, it still didn't influence what their deeds achieved.
A good deed is never tainted, unless the deed wasn't good. One could do many a good deed, and as a result of the acclaim gained by such; does a horrible deed and as a result of the power given/bestowed/associated with the individual... that doesn't make any of the prior actions associated with "good" any less good.

I should hope that nobody gets an ego boost from posting a good deed on an internet discussion forum.

Hehe... ...can't tell how serious or joking you really are. Just remember who you're pushing for...It's hard enough for me to mature with these societal stereotypes constantly reinforcing an absurd image of drug use onto my actions.

It is utterly ridiculous? What by nature makes the world unpure? Categorizing the world as "unpure" seems to be something that has been projected upon the world, not something that was defined by nature (especially considering how I've never been able to distinguish inherent meaning in anything).
 Peace.

Good deed of the day thread was indeed a good deed.
I wonder why swami even bothers to post anything, when he already knows it all.
Anyway, today, I'll be good to swami and not say the things that I think of him. And in addition to that, I will give him this dosage of attention, which I know he will enjoy.

Exactly why it's utterly ridiculous, subjective values as to what the true nature of "purity" is... and hence why we shouldn't allocate it as a determinate for our actions. We might as well be talking in terms of good and evil.
