I should have mentioned this in my previous entry, but my cat's friend is growing Lippa Yai (something like that) thailand mushrooms, and, one of the mushrooms is a good thickness and approximately 5-6 inches in length. Dried, this would obviously look like a good sized dose, but when measured (fresh) it comes out to only 6 grams, which, for fresh weight, is pathetic. Will someone please explain how a mushroom which looks to be a good amount for a fairly hard trip can come out to only 6 grams fresh. Is this a peculiarity of the Thailand strain? And, no, the scale is not wrong.
thanks

Well first of all stop cross posting there is no reason for it.

Mushrooms are 90%+ water so a six gram wet mushroom should weigh out to about .06 g when dry.

All strains are like this that is why this hobby is given up on time and time again.

Don't give up just change your methods as you get more experienced and you will have more satisfying flush's

What was your substrate? I got some rye jars started w/Koh Samui and I plan to case. Im currious how well they produced for others.

I got a huge flush coming up now of the Lipa Yai on simple BRF 250mls cased with 50/50 and shell grit... I found Lipa Yai to give a nice sized flush indeed...

Oh yeah, MJ has some great new strains from areas of Ko Samui and Ko Pha Ngan Thailand !! And i remember some of those strains from my travels there - i remember these white capped cubies that i got chopped up in an omelet at the Rasta Baby - I was just simply 'electrified' for hours!! I cant wait to try these Lipayai...
