:rolleyes: what the hell. I was planning on making that into casing but now that little pin showed up. Can I still crumble and case or is the mycelium already established to pin? I already removed it and the cake is being dunked. Any problems with prepinners? Will my nutes be used up a little to? :confused:

No need to worry. The amount of nutrients that little bastard used up is infinitesimal. Your casing should be fine. (This info is coming from an intermediate)

Yeah, no worries. You can case that cake w/o a problem. Pick off all pins and primordia cause' they can (not always) rot.

You could use Karo water and start a liquid culture, make up some grain jars and toss live myc into them, blend up that mushroom with some h202/h20 and innoc some grains or make some agar and grow your myc on there.

I have made a casing with 2 cakes and one started showing pins, it still fruited fine once cased. Keep us updated :smile:

Never had that happen to me in my entire decade of growing. I have heard of it happening, though. Do you incubate your jars? A jar should complete in no more than 3 weeks for spores and no more than two weeks for mycelium transfer. If you use enough liquid inoculate, you should get completion in about 7 days. If you don't incubate, though, who knows how long you'll be waiting and if the mycelium will start to pin. If it does this, you are not doing something right.
