Should I mist my rolled cakes?

I have some cakes that were rolled and double-end cased in my PMP right now. I have a misty mate and I really want to put it to good use. Plus it kinda drives me crazy to just sit there and look at my cakes and not have anything to do. Do you think it would be good for my cakes if I give them a light misting every day or two? Would it do more harm than good? I usually put a splash of H2O2 in my bottle before I spray anything, just in case. I know some of you guys are just going to tell me I should have cased them if I want to mist, and I have two small casings in the incubator right now too

After rolling you want to mist them babies down real good right to near saturation then a real gentle misting after each fanning. This will work awesome as long as you have plenty of fresh air exchanges to aid in transpiration/evaporation. Just don't keep them saturated they need the transpiration cycle to really produce. GL

I'm using a misty-mate right now for my cakes. Works great as it puts out a real fine mist. Probably the finest mist you could get without going to one of those fine mist humidifiers. I've found that I get the finest spray when I pump it to the max before each and every misting though.
I saturated my cakes pretty good right after rolling and now I mist whenever I fan. (2-3 times a day). Seems to be working, but this is my first grow so we'll see how it goes when I weigh in. Good luck!

My cakes are in a PMP, so I don't actually fan at all. My air pump kicks out a pretty good amount of air. I may start fanning when I put my casings in there though.

It's funny that you mention that. I sent an email to the company before I bought one, asking which of their products produced the finest mist. The guy wrote me back saying that it was just based on the amount of pressure in the system and that all of their hand pumps are the same.

I don't wanna sound stupid but how do I fan my cakes? Can I put a small fan next to them for a few minutes after misting or by hand or just open the top. I don't have a air pump.

after you mist them take the top, or peice of cardboard or something and fan above your fruiting chamber for a minute or two.

Thank You! I get more help here than on any other forum I guess a fan would have a higher chance of contaminating them huh? I spray and fan every 3-4 hours or so. Light for 12 hours or so a day. On the right track right?

so over misting wont affect anything? Undermisting? I mist till theres dew forming on the cakes, and everytime that dew evaporates is this okay i havent had my first flush yet so thats why im so curious. Thanks RK

yes mist until they look nice and moist and then fan. the water evaporating is one of the best pinning triggers.
if you under mist the cakes will dry out and not perform well at all
