Problems with the man?
    #405047 - 09/26/01 05:49 PM (15 years, 2 months ago)

I was just pondering the hunting world and was thinking about how different hunting in the east US must be than in the northwest. In washington i pretty much enter fields, parks, whereever and just go about my business picking shrooms without even thinking about police. It seems to me tho that down in florida and in popular cubensis country you guys are always getting fucked with by farmers and cops and whatnot. So whats the word?? What kinda stuff has happened to you guys?? Anyone been arrested for hunting?? Trespassing perhaps i could see. Worst thing that happened to me was a sherriff drove right by me and a friend picking liberty caps pretty much roadside in a field. All the sherriff did was just keep driving, no slowdown even.

Wish it was still that way in OR!

ALL the good lib fields I used to visit are now posted & heavily patrolled. I sometimes got (politely) kicked out by the farmers--no psycho rednecks with shotguns, fortunately--but now they've posted permanent trespassing complaints with the Sherrif: a couple years ago the Lane Co. Sherrif's deputies issued a record 76 citations in one day, in one field!

The cops even found the back way we used to sneak into this particular ranch--across the RR tracks & thru the woods--& now post a patrol car there behind the bushes doing double duty: guarding the fields while running a radar speed trap on Hwy. 126.
