Yeah, I went looking last week and didn't find anything magical. Thus, I've procrastinated, for fear of rejection! hehe!
Looks like the forecast calls for rain this week, with Highs in upper 50s and lows in upper 30s. Sounds perfect to me.
I start my vacation on Oct. 24, I believe, so I'm gonna do lots of hunting in Western Washington!
OJ, Cardboard, others: How does the last week of October sounds to you guys? I'm thinking all Psilocybes should be fruiting then. It's gonna be a great season, I can tell!

temps from here on out will be fine, we just need rain. A week of rain and i bet all species will be fruiting around here, without that rain they wont really be fruiting in any abundancy that warrents a hunt.

hey, ive been out in the woods some in the oly region and in olympic national park and found amanita gemmatas in both. i cooked up one at the end of an intense shroom trip and ate it towards the end, made me feel stoned as shit. it was nice. but yes, in the woods in olympic park, there were shrooms galore, the rainforest is amazing in how it keeps the shrooms alive constantly.

I haven't had any succes in the woods of WA,or than A. pantherina and A. gemmata.
I searched the area good, though. I have found NO psilocybes in the forest.
Last season, I had Ps. pelliculosa on my mind. I found what I thought was the perfect place, considering the owner cut massive amounts of trees and brush down the preceding fall.
Seemed that sulfer tufts were the winner of that 10+ acre woods' mycelium space!

it looks like the rain is finally coming...that is if the forecast is accurate. i agree w/cardboard that the temps are already good.
didn't mean to tease y'all with the pic on page 2. it surprised me too, the Galerinas aren't really up yet around here, just a few Naematolomas.
y'know the only reason i found them was because i hunt all species not just the active ones. i always hunt from sept. on. lots of free food and excitement plus you never know when you might stumble onto an early patch nourished by a sprinkler. i was picking Lepiota Rachodes when i noticed those cyans. there are at least 40-50 more where that one came from and it hasn't really rained yet. i, like most of you out there can't wait until it does rain...but i guess we must wait so i'll just keep picking edibles and checking near sprinklers until then...

I wouldn't necessarily say that we don't like you.
OK, you swore that you or a friend of yours had already found Ps. cyanescens on a day that seemed really too early for them to be found. Well, we disagreed and discussed that we thought it was too early for them. Void of providing any proof, you just blurted out exactly what you fealt about us(I'm saying us, as in the experienced hunters in the thread up to your outburst) and well, seeing as you just showed up out of the blue and pissed us off, well...............
A few days later, a guy posted a pic of Ps. cyanescens that he'd found already in the season. I, for one, was sceptical on that pic being from this season's mushrooms. I later just came to grips with the fact, and that's that.
OK, maybe you had seen them already! Cool! But still, you pissed me off! Still, I'm not gonna look at your username and ignore or badger you because of something that happened in the past. I enjoy new people's opinions and experiences. It looks like you do know something about mushrooms and that's killer! Although, I won't take back what I said. When I said it, I meant it!
Hehe, it's kinda funny that we all argue with one another via text and about a subject such as mushrooms! Crazy!
It's my passion, though. So, GGGGGGGREAT!
Also, cardboard is not such an asshole, man! I think the first time I was in the same thread with cardboard, I was the one that fucking acted like a total asshole and we got into an arguement. That was awhile back and today I think he's one of the coolest memebers here! Go figure!
I have to be alittle hypocritical here, because I picked the hell outta the mushrooms last season(My first on the Shroomery Boards) and didn't have shit to show for it! I don't have a scanner and I got my digi-cam for Christmas last year, which you know is a few days too late to film the harvest! So, what did I do? I gathered some blue-as-fuck Ps. cyanescens from the freezer and took a pic to prove to Cardboard that I do in fact hunt. Hehe! That's the only goddamned pic I've got on this site! Man, I suck! hehe!
Also, I'm one person that posts very large threads, as you can see! Hehe!

dwahah, i love this forum sometimes, and other i dont. The only problem with typing messages is that you cant see the big old grin on my face and my chuckling as i type stuff that will no doubt piss someone off. Typingwords, you said you found "a bunch" of cyans with a green colored mold on it and this was a week ago or more at a time with no rain. I analized this and came to a conclusion and it was this, if you were lucky enough to find cyans without rain it would be because they were being watered from a sprinkler or something, you made no mention of this. Another, you said you found alot of them, i could see maybe finding a few water deprived freaks but "alot" of them would be a downright dubious find without proper moisture. The green mold thing makes your story even more unbelievable so at this point i decided that you hadnt/HAVENT found any cyans. I am sorry, i know you would like to find some cyans but the facts of this matter show that its an impossibility!!!
Yes, Levi i probably did write you off as a dirty liar last year when you said you had been finding cyans and yet didnt present a picture, but the pics of the freezer cyans made me believe.
So a note to anyone out there who wishes to make the all mighty cardboard believe they have found shrooms (why do you care what i think anyway??) you must have pictures to prove it, also sending some tasty green nuggets to my house would be nice too. Actually on second thought, if you send me some doobage then i wont require any pictures and i will endorse your finds with great enthusiasm.
Levi, on a side note, i recently recieved a PM from the legendary mattso who used to reside in seattle. He sent me directions to a patch of stunzii (wood and lawn dwellers) that he describes as "fucking huge". I am gonna come down south in the next few days and do some picking at that patch and check seattle U for cyan growth, let me know if you wanna hook up and collect some magical psilocybian mushroooooooms.

Truly sorry, cardboard, but I'm extremely busy for the next few weeks, in preparation for my vacation later this month!

Mattso, huh? He's a real knowledgeable guy. I read many, many posts made by him about a year ago, before I decided to become a member of The Shroomery. So, he was only around, after my membership, for less than a month I think, before he moved to California(San Diego, if I remember correctly).
It's been a whole year, but isn't he the guy that lived a few blocks away from the Arboretum and picked there almost every day? I can't exactly point this out.
Oh, Ha-fucking-ha!!!!! I totally forgot that Typingwords' post was about green mold on the Cyans! hehe!
Holy shit, I also forgot about him saying that they weren't illegal if there was green mold on them!

And cardboard, I've read your shit, and your funny, and stubborn like me, which is a good thing. So sorry for my name calling.
By the way, I DID FIND PS. CYANESCENS!!!!!!!! In fact I just went back yesterday in search of some non moldy ones (with all this rain lately I was expecting some), and a few of the moldy ones were still lying there all dried out and shriveled . so I might have to take some pictures of those today.....I'll buy one hour pictures just to prove it to you cardboard! Oh yeah, and I was just joking about mailing moldy mushrooms not being illegal.
Okay but fuck all this. What I wanted to say was that I live right across the lake from seattle (kirkland, 15 min. drive) and so if you know of some spots cardboard, then we can go find the goods, and then afterwards we'll stroll across the lake for some moldy mushroom dessert.
Please! I need some spot info! All this rain, but I don't have the faintest idea of where to go. I don't want to waste a bunch of gas driving around finding nothing like last season.

I live on the West Side of the Sound, across from Tacoma and North of Shelton, South of Bremerton. I've got a Shelton Addy, but live 35 minutes away! I'm in the Boonies, man!
I'm in the middle of a huge-ass Doug Fir forest. There are many, many mushrooms here, but the magical ones tend to be out in the open more. Cities, like Seattle are nice, because there are so many yards and landscaped lots, etc.
Hell, there isn't a yard for at least 6 miles in any direction from my place. My YARD is the Forest Floor! hehe.
