Someone I know is on their first grow :stoned:, used it for dunks and misting (1:9 ratio of h2o2 to h20) The only thing I've heard bad about it is it encourages mutatants.  Had a few fat assess had to pick off of cakes.

don't use it in your tit's water resrvoir- it degrades too quickly; i use bleach.
make sure that you put it in an opaque spray bottle, for h2o2 breaks down in ultra-violet rays (hence the dark-brown bottle)
make a 10% sol. of clean (distilled/ boiled & cooled) water for misting.
you can add it to white vinegar for a cleaning solution.
it has applications in agar work, too; allows tissue to grow but not contaminant spores.

no it is not.
there are lots of people who misunderstand, or have a rudimentary knowledge of the vastness of technique in this field.
keep your eyes out in the forums, and you will learn, soon, who knows what they're talking about, and who is regurgitating what they think they thought they heard.

be safe and have fun

H2o2 breaks down faster in the presence of light and heat. It is mostly used as a weak disinfectant, good to treat cobweb mold, as it isn't so aggressive to mycelium as bleach is.
FYI about h2o2 properties

yes it kills spores... but not mycelium.

in hospital settings h2o2 is sometimes used as an disinfectant (perhaps not so often here in the west, but in asia, eastern europe, africa and south america). and it is considered a very good disinfectant. not to mention that its relatively cheap, nonflammable and leaves no hazardous residues.

a 7% solution will make clean surfaces and tools sterile enough for surgery in 20-25 minutes. if the surface is grimy, 12% for 30-40 minutes will still do the job. so its a very efficient disinfectant. that will kill most endospores and gram-positive and negative germs.

h202 is a really good thing, BUT be very careful with how you handle it, its not good for your skin. and can stain (bleach) or even corrode some materials.

also i would like to add that contrary to what some "new age" Hippie people say. it is NOT good or healthy to ingest h2o2 at any concentration. it can/will cause genetic damage to your cells.

is h2o2 not produced naturally by the body in low amounts?

I find this very hard to believe considering the main applications for it are as a topical antiseptic and mouth rinse(which it suggests using four times a day).

yes, you are absolutely right, it has been used as a topical (and subcutaneous) antiseptic. and still is (I've used it plenty of times in asia on minor cuts or abrasions). however, this is now advised against (at least in my country).

it has been shown that some fo its separation into water and oxygen in the body, may occur after it has already been absorbed into a cell.

its more or less the same as the issue of free-radicals/vs/antioxidants (only on a massive scale). if you get free oxygens in your cells, they may react with the chromosome/dna structure which is Not a good thing (i think you will agree).

one way this has been shown is that scar tissue, formed under continuous/repeated influence of h2o2, have changes to its genome (tough luck for me).

I just wanted to back up Mindzpore. I am a Biochemist and everything he just said is true.

This is why you dont use H202 on deep wounds. Also why your not suppose to swallow the H202 mouthwash solution.]

Useing as a topical antibiotic on cuts and scrapes is still acceptable though. The Skin cells are replaced every few days and therefore the genomic change in those cells are irelavent.

Also it takes a continous aplication (Like on a deep Scar causeing wound) for the genomic change to occur in tissue.

If you swallowed small amounts (mouthwash purposes) you will not have any ill effects that your body cant heal.

But i personally wont use h202 as mouthwash.

some of the original toothpastes were just h202 and bakingsoda (fun fact)
