HOW DOES THIS SoUnD?

Does this sound like a reasonable thought?

I use 1/2 pint jelly jars. Not the short fat ones, but the tall skinny ones with textured outsides. Now, about 1 to 2 weeks into colonization the mycelium has only colonized the top half of the jar and is working down. However the mycelium blocks evaporation from the substrate below it and it starts to get all clumpy. The jars never fully colonize, maybe 2 out of 6.
Does this sound reasonable? If so i'm going to get some of the short fat 1/2 pints.

The shorter jars work MUCH better!

yep. get some of the canning jars and youll love it. take what you can get and mix/case it. being so tall and thin you prolly wouldnt want them as cakes anyways.
