Sooo I've got five wbs jars that were shot up with eq about 2 days ago, and i also have some mycellium from a cake that was ground up in a coffe grounder and placed in some pasturized verm/poo.  well i'm not sure that the poo substrate will colonize in time due to the small amount of spawn used (1/2 of a 1/2 pint jar) so i'm thinking i should take small amounts of mycellium and transfer them to the wbs jars to speed up the jars and  have a spawn even faster?  oh the poo substrate is malabar, and i know it would take over the eq shot up into the wbs jars, but what do you guys think?  thx all

so let me get this strait...you are attempting to take myc from a cake that has been mixed w/ poo and use it for a transfer? that's probably not going to work because the myc isn't very clean (won't contam by itself but might spread bacteria to the sterilzed substrate in the transfer jar).

what is your substrate? grains are best for transfers (compared to pf tek) because you can shake the jars...or else colonization will take forever.

you need to transfer myc from an opened and colonized jar is my assumption (and practice). use one of your colonized jars, take a clean fork or knife or whatever and take out a small bit of myc/substrate from your freshly opened jar and **quickly** move it to your sterilized and un-inoculated jar, then close that jar and shake.
