Knocked Quarts of WBS, no signs of growth.
    #4046661 - 04/12/05 05:36 PM (12 years, 3 months ago)

I inoculated 4 quart jars of WBS on saturday afternoon. Its been 3 full days and there is no sign of mycelial growth that I can see. Today was the first time I've checked on them. I did not simmer the seed. I soaked for about 36 hours, then PC'ed for 90 mins. Knocked them being very sterile, cleaned B-Room, turned off ventilation, lysoled/ousted the whole room, gloves, mask the whole 9 yards.

I used 2 cc in each jar exccept the 4th jar got 4 cc. I shook them after being PC'd and after being inoculated.

I thought I'd read that you should see mycelial growth within a couple days, with WBS. Did I fuckup somewhere or is it common to not have growth this early?

Give it some more time. I've had jars that took a week before any signs of growth took place but once it did, they finished quickly.

it takes 3-7 days for myc. to appear. If there are no signs of myc. after 7 days then you probably have a moisture problem and might as well start over.

Its been incubating in a TiT between 81 and 83 degrees. I'll check it again Saturday and if nothing then I'll post back with a detailed description of my steps and try to pinpoint where it went wrong thanks guys. Wish me some mushroom mojo. Lord knows I suck at growing any type of plant so maybe fungus will give me better luck.
