Did i just break my submersable heater?
    #4046553 - 04/12/05 05:11 PM (12 years, 3 months ago)

I was just pushing my 50watt submersable heaters control knob towards the hotter side, and it kind of made a snapping noise and went past the stop at the end. Did i just strip the control knob so it's stuck on all the way hot, or will it still be controlable? I guess it doesn't really matter, because my current setup requires my heater to be up all the way, but i would like it if it wasn't broken.

Set it in a container with water. Put the dial on a temp and stick a thermometer in there for a while and see if the temps match.

it doesn't have a temp reading on the heater, just a + and - line. I still have it in my incubator, so if it continues to keep it at 80-82 i guess im good.
