Cubensis mycelia and cellulose

I saw in the substrate sub-forum someone added sawdust of an unknown tree into their compost/straw mixture before pasteurization. Does anyone here know if this would be effective, I'm not even sure that cubensis material can break down the starches that make up wood. I'm pretty wrecked now, isn't wood made of cellulose? Amylose? heh, I think cellulose.

jeah wood is cellulose, so is paper ..

basically, adding wood wouldnt really be of any use unless you got a wood
munching strain such as azurescens for example.

also, oyster mushrooms love cellulose which is why many people cultivate
them on pasteurized paper shreds.

for some other substrate such as grains maybe ?
