You cant see cool mist output.

With warm mist you are seeing steam

Hold your hand over tyhe output. If it gets wet its working.

Yea, something crazy has happened to my vicks cool mist. It used to need to be refilled about once ever 30 hours. But after i sealed between the top and bottom with a hot glue gun it runs for DAYS (almost a week)without needing to be refilled. At first i thought i screwed something up and it wasnt putting out enough humidity but my trusty digi gauge is giving me the 'hi' reading (which means 90%+) which is ideal for casings so i'm just gonna go with it. Makes it so i can leave the sucker for like a week.

oh and you will probly need an ultrasonic or someother way to bring up your humidity.

Cool mist wont do it alone. Cool mist is great for air exchange.

Ultra sonic is great to get your humidity up to 95%

I have the 3 tier with that setup and it works great.

If a cool mist is working it will make your hand wet when you hold it in front of the output for like 15 seconds.

My cool mist brings my martha to 110% humidity (from 40% room) in about 5 minutes and then keeps it there forever. No need for an ultra. Is there a need for an ultra? I have never used one, even when doing cakes. My vicks has been MORE then enough. Even when i had it running on a 1 hour on, 2 hours off timmer, always stayed at 100% unless i opened the grow chamber.

Your hand should become moist after sitting in front of it for like 15 seconds.

Naw, that should be cool. I actually had to increase the length of the hose between my vicks and my martha cause water droplets were dripping everywhere. Like i said, i think mine all of the sudden cut down its water output and it has just gotten better. I think yours is fine.
