B+ a slow colonizer? Not in my case!
    #4044941 - 04/12/05 09:37 AM (18 years, 11 months ago)

I've got 10 BRF jars inoculated with alleged Amazonians, and 9 BRF jars inoculated with B+

the amazonians were inoculated on 3-18 with a liquid culture of unknown composition

the B+ were inoculated more than 10 days later, on 3-29 with a honey culture.

Both were incubated together at ~75-85F (guestimation, my temps weren't that stable...)

the B+ is falling only slightly behind the amazonians, both have jars that are 90-99% complete! The amazonians have quite a bit of myc piss spots and practically no rhyzo growth except in the ones that are almost done.

I haven't fruited any of the B+ yet, but I've fruited these amazonians that I've got and haven't gotten good results. I'm blaming my shitty results with the amazonians so far on the fact that I've been using rye flour cakes, but if these BRF cakes suck too, then i will just assume that I got a bunk strain.

Everyone says that B+ is a slow colonizer? Not compared to these amazonians I've got...

I have been MAD IMPRESSED with B+. It is what i started out with from the infamous Earth's Tounge (dont buy from). I worked with them for a while making some of my own syringes (which just made them that much more hardcore cause i use a whole print for a syringe). So far they beat out GTs for pinning and colonize time, and bitch slapped texas (which sucks IMHO). I'm gonna go get a pic of something B+eautiful, hang on.

If you guys like quick colonizers that pack a good punch when fruited, I'd also recommend Puerto Ricans.  These guys are the fastest colonizing I've seen yet.  Rye quarts 3/4 full, innoc's w/ Karo LC, are FULLY colonized in 6 days.... every time... Their growth is so aggressive that I've started fruiting them directly after being cased (when doing straight rye casings), without incubating them at all.  B E A Uuuuuuutiful :stoned:

LONG LIVE B+ (in my library at least)

Compare that to these decent GTs. Decent just can't compare in this case(ing).

Also, the cake in the front that i was just screwin around with is also B+. Look at them suckers! Definitly gonna print them; never got such biggies off a cake before.  :heartpump: :heartpump: :heartpump:
