Tree of Knowledge...
    #4042976 - 04/11/05 09:01 PM (18 years, 11 months ago)

How would you compare The Tree of Knowledge recordings with the book (food of the gods)? Is it an exact transcription? Is one better than the other? I was hoping the book is the same cuz i cant really listen to a low quality recording for 11 hours. I heard little clips and it sounded interesting though. If the recording is that much better though, I'll probably put it on cd and listen.

thanks.

the "tree of knowledge" recordings were a series lectures, "food of gods" was his  one of mckennas books - Although the subject knowledge is similar, they are not the same or some sort of transcription. Read the book and listen

The quality is not so bad for voice audio...if you're interested in what he has to say, it wont matter much. just as good as any other live voice audio recording, really...

I completely enjoy listening to Mckenna speak.

I think you should do both. I've never read the book, but the audio recordings are incredible if you just listen to them, and they don't cover the same material in the same way. I'm sure the book rocks, but yeah, definitely check em both out.

the audio recordings of the Tree of Knowledge have much more information about all kinds of stuff. Food of the Gods is sorta limited by the fact that he must stay on subject. Not so with Tree of Knowledge. It ranges from the possible causes for civilization to appear, to the DMT experience, and much much more. Read and listen to what ever you can find by Terence McKenna. There are a lot of instances where he's just talking about old ideas, but new questions get asked by people in the audiences.
