gypsum ?

How much gypsum should I put in quart jars of rye?
Does gypsum go bad? ( I got a 40lb bag so I'll probably never use it up)
Can any old pros tell me what difference gypsum made in their setup? (this is going to be my first crop so I dont get to see before and after)

gypsum is to raise the ph so that the contams are not favored over your shrooms in the substrate. lots of recipes available. if you are just adding it on a jar to jar basis, then enough to cover the top with a layer like the house hasn't been dusted in a month of so. no more than a small spoonful.

no need to get scientific with the measurement, just don't pile it on like sugar on a kid's bowl of cherrrios.

So is gypsum worth getting to fight the whole contam problem... is there any noticable affects as opposed to not using this ..?
