Birthing question...
    #403915 - 09/25/01 06:22 PM (22 years, 6 months ago)

AF is on his 1st attempt using the PF tek. Most of the dozen jars appear to be fully colonized however he is not sure how to tell when they are colonized enough to birth them. What should I tell him?

If you wait until you see a few pins forming it is reported to help with a bigger 1st flush. I did that with mine and it was great. A friend did his before the pins formed and was a little dissapointed with his results compared to mine
Good luck and peace, TUT

He says some of them have little white humps starting where the cake is pulling away from the jar but they look pretty wet is this normal? Should he birth them now or wait more? If he should wait, approx how long? Would a pic help to answer?
