shroom cakes

A buddy of mine thinks he got himself an 1/8th of fungi.

my question is has anyone ever heard of people selling mushrooms in cake form? I have read quite a bit of people saying that it wouldnt work, and that it wouldnt be potent. Either way, I know a couple of people who tried it out and have real good reports.

btw: looks like rye grain cakes

any ideas?

uhh....

no one is disputing the fact that he should grow the fruiting bodies themselves... i was asking if anyone ever heard of people selling the broken cakes themselves, i guess it would help if you read the question though...

I think I misunderstood, so I'm changing this post.

Cutting up two cakes, boiling them in water for 15 minutes and making tea from the water works well in my experience. Hits hard, little chance of getting sick ONCE you swallow the stuff (pretty gross sometimes), and doesn't have a very long after-glow where you can't sleep but are exhausted.

Fruit are always more potent than mycelium, unless the shrooms around there are terrible. I wouldn't buy mycelium from someone unless I planned on cloning it for sake of growing my own. You just don't know how potent it will be and weighing it is not comparable to mushrooms because of the potency difference.

Whoever is selling mycelium is an idiot I think, 1/8 probably wouldn't be enough to trip hard off

Yes it would probably be way better to just grow them. I mean you'd get way more out of it in the long run.. and i think the only thing that tastes worse then shrooms is mycelium. or at least i can only imagine how bad it tastes.. and if you eat the cake you'd be eating verm or bird seed..
