kratom tea questions.

I got some kratom from a good source, a sponser here. I took 3 large spoon fulls and placed in a glass with vodca 80 proof. I cooking in the microwave so it boiled down to a little matter. Then I added water to the leaves then boiled it down in a pot. I then filtered the leaves through a t-shirt, squeezed the rest of the liquid. I allowed the liquid to cool and drank it all. I feel mild effects, but seriously it isn't anything special at all.
I was under the impression that the alcohol would extract the matter faster and additional boiling would have me some strong tea. Perhaps I needed more material? I don't have a gram scale so I cannot wiegh the mass of tea material. So what is the deal, should I just extract the material and then have some super extract to add to water then drink?

Do not filter the leaves (drink them along with the tea) and you'll see what the fuss is all about.

So you are saying to drink the leaves, swallow the leaves as well as the liquid unless I am mistaken. I don't see how that is supposed to make a difference, but I will give it a try.

It makes a world of a difference Grind them to powder, mix them with hot water, drink while warm, wait 60mins. If you have good kratom you will be surprized.

Just eat the powdered leaves straight. Take a swig of water or pop to help wash it down. I have found this to be the absolute most effective method of consuming, coming on in about 10-15 minutes or less. The hydroco feeling lasting for about an hour until the smooth gentle transition into somnolance and sleep. I've been a big fan of the strains that require only 2 grams... I dont waste my time or money on this 10 gram stuff.

Commercial strength kratom does not require 10 grams when eaten straight, that's for strained tea

ive found that the least effective actually. It always works the absolute best for me to make a tea and drink it while very hot still, along with the bit of powder that does get in. drinking it while still very hot is key. And it can be very effective even at very small doses of the commercial stuff this way.

The most effective way for me is powdered leaf in a cup, covererd with hot water (makes the leaf saturated in a matter of seconds) and just chug it.
I often use(d) strained tea though for a more intense (although shorter) experience. That takes a lot more leaf though.

Hum ok this explains a lot, thanks everyone. I made some tea but was sleepy so I sort of nooded off while the hot tea was cooling in the freezer. When I drank the tea it was rather chilled. But I must report that I did have some interesting effects from the kratom. I found it to be energizing and I hardly slept last night, I took the tea at 3am, but I feel rested and great today.
I will try to consume the leaves just straight, and also I will make a tea and consume the leaves for other times. Kinda of mellow high that isn't too expensive. I don't see it as very antiproductive, you could easily take kratom and goto work or school, doesn't really inhibit standard function in average dosages.

Don't consume too many leaves/powder the first time. When I do it, it makes me sick/vomit.
Tea is the way to go for me. I boil 15-20 grams commercial grade kratom in 1 liter of water for 45 minutes, then I remove the leaves from the water(don't forget to squeeze) and continue cooking about 10 minutes until almost all the water is gone.
I prefer the commercial grade stuff over the super kratom. Dunno if it's just an idea, but I have to use a higher (equivalent) dose of super/premium kratom.

well that seems like a total waste to me. I would rather consume the leaves or make an extract would be even better and then just consume a little extract as not to consume all these leaves.

So sorry for being such a kratom newbie, do you have to space out the kratom usuage? I heard that in thailand they use it every day but doesn't a tolerance build?

Don't use it every day! Yes, tolerance will follow frequent use, so will the withdrawls when discontinued.

wow, grinding the leaves into a powder and consuming it is far more intense than drinking tea. Wow.
