Hackers?

If someone did something to your computer over the internet, and you sort of knew them, along with their IP address... would there be any way to take legal repercussions against them? Or do anything at all to them?

if they stole very important files and (for instance a secret perfume formula, credit card or bank info, very personal pics/vids ect ect.)  basically very damaging things, then yeah, assuming they're an idoit. it'd be pretty hard to catch any semi-intelligent hacker, even skript kiddies would be difficult. having an ip dosn't mean anything if you're not sure it's actually theres. then it comes to proving it was them, tons of shit totally not worth it if they just gave you a virus or something stupid :stoned:

Probably depends upon whether or not you lost anything valuable. Also, you'd have a real hard time proving it was them, and on top of that you'd have a harder time trying to get anyone to even listen to you.
