Local news stations reports on shrooms

Check the vidio out here http://www.wspa.com/servlet/Satellite?pa...&path=!home

and the article

Quote:

While it is a pretty uncommon drug, you probably wouldn't think so after seeing how many were found growing inside an Upstate house. Narcotics officers seized more than $100,000 worth of hallucinogenic mushrooms. Now, I find out why it's harder to catch this kind of suspected drug dealer.

You won't find them at the grocery store, but there are stacks of mushrooms at the Spartanburg County forensic lab that are drying out so they can be tested. The hallucinogenic mushrooms were being grown inside a house on Main Street in downtown Inman. It's something officers aren't used to finding. Lieutenant Beth Vaughn says, "I hate to say it, but it was kind of exciting in my line of work to see something like that. You don't see that stuff every day. It was very exciting to see it and know that we're taking it off the streets."

I did some digging and found that hallucinogens only account for less than one percent of all drugs confiscated in Spartanburg County and it's harder to spot someone who is growing "magic" mushrooms. Vaughn says, "You don't have the chemical smell. You don't have the paranoia where people are setting up the cameras, like you might with a methamphetamine lab."

Even though some grow naturally, drug addiction counselors say hallucinogenic mushrooms are not safe. Curtis Walker says, "Well if you get the kind you put in your salad, no they won't hurt you, but there's an acid in these mushrooms that cause the hallucinogenic effect." Counselors say there's no way to tell how much of the drug can send someone over the edge. Vaughn says, "For every person the experience is different. So one person may become exteremly violent. One person may have no concept of fear. One person may have no concept of danger and do something extremely dangerous to themselves."

Seven people face charges in connection with the bust. Stephen Smith, Jeralyn Joslin, Dustin Wade and Stephanie Abernathy of Inman were arrested. David Garrett and Matthew Kirkland of Spartanburg were also arrested, along with David Freeman of Boiling Springs. Each is charged with possession with intent to distribute.

lol, Yeah there is an acid in them.

That'd be just over 22 pounds of shrooms (at 35 an 1/8th)... that is an ASSLOAD of mushrooms. Then again, look at that list of arrested people! They probably had a martha in every closet in the house!

God that's such bullshit. It's just seriously upsetting reading something like this. These people are thought of as HEROES now, because they "took it off the streets".

God..blinding ignorance. It's hard not to be filled with hate when you read bullshit like this.

"One person may have no concept of fear."

yea, and one person might have no concept of hate, and start hugging a tree

but they are probably going to charge them for the wet weight, since they 'know the value' and have to dry them to test them... i wonder how they got caught?

Side effects of Mushrooms from shit-hole news station as follows

Nausea
Muscle Weakness
Drowsiness
Sweating
Lack of Coordination

Yeah that sounds really dangerous.

Those mushrooms are fatasses. They needed to fan more often.
21 pounds? That a decent grow in a basement if you ask me.

I want the names of those people, they said it was on the website. I can't find it. I also want the police email account of that female chemist. I think she should really re-think her idea of being excited.

I got the name of the reporter, and the local police agency said they would give me the email of the chemist. Hmmm, this should be interesting.

Yeah, never knew that a pretty big grow op was within 5 minutes of me. To bad I wish I could have met them befor they went down. Also this is an old thread. I was just thinking about the bust earlier today, think of how much mushrooms could have been down the chain to me. Kinda pisses me off.

yeah..pretty shitty news report. they got it all wrong!

Can't blame the cops though, they just did their jobs. The kids broke the law and got caught, and that's just life in this country at the moment.

This will be a popular post.
