i just knocked up 4 jars like this ....are these airtight seals ok ? these jars are snap downs with ruber seals ...i didnt know if no air will make them not do anything...

Whoa what the heck are those jars? Look smaller than half pints.

Might want to put some tyvek on the top for air exchange but with jars that small you probably don't even have to bother.

ya they are small im just trying an experiment and thought they were neat jars ...i picked them up at my work ...(micheals craft store) i put aluminum foil over the top with holes and sealed it when i boiled them then opened and inoced through the holes in the foil and sealed them quickly and i actually put a dry layer of verm this time ...i think thats y my last atempt failed

NOO airtight seals are bad! but then again they're so small that there mihgt be enough air in them to colonize that small of a cake
