i just twisted off a pup to replant and its got a good amount of rooting on it and its very moist.. got me stuck between waiting till it callouses and dries or planting it right now.. what do you all think.. thanks

Allow it to callus or it may become infected, especially since you live in a place with high relative humidity (NJ).

You might not have to wait to plant it, but to err on the side of safety, you should let it callous first. In any case. Since it was a pup that was just twisted off. You won't have to wait as long to plant it as if you had taken a cutting.
