Are these shrooms bad/moldy/dangerous? *pics*

*edit* added pics a few posts down...
I have an eigth of shrooms chilling in my dresser (which is slightly warm due to my room temp). They looked fine when I bought them about a week and a half ago, nice and clean, a little blue. I rolled them in a bag because I heard they are better in the cool, and put them in the fridge. I realized a little beer fridge probably isn't cold enough so I took them out after 1 day and rolled them up again in 2 baggies. Right now, they look very "dusty." and pretty blue. There's lots of shake (or mushroom dust if you prefer ), and I can't tell if there's mold or not. There's nothing that LOOKS like mold, but there are a lot of browns/yellows on it.
I'll post pics when I get home, I just want to make sure they're ok. I also don't know where to keep them Right now theyre in my dresser like I said, but sometimes my dorm room can get up to 70-75 (im guessing, just pretty damn hot). I just have to eat them soon!

I'm fairly sure that because they are dried they wont go mouldy for a very long time, but heat destroys psilocybin so it's probably not best to keep them in a very warm spot..
How dry are they I guess we needa know.. Like cracker dry so they can snap with only a small amount of pressure or what?

if they were fresh shrooms when you bought them, they'll be pretty fucked after a week and a half. if they were properly dried, they should be fine. its hard to tell though without pictures. if they've started to rot they'll start going black and smelling bad (even worse than normal).

Ok, i just took these.. and i still have a week or two before i planned on eating them. do these look like theyre in bad shape? I see lots of "dust".. so im not sure if that breaks down the psylocybin or what. I don't see any mold.. but it does look kind of colorful it also smells pretty much like normal.. tastes powdery.
I left them high resolution so you can see them in detail..

I can see one cap that looks a little rotted, most of the others look cool. That one cap could also just have spores on it. It is the dark one. Be careful when eating old things that are mind changing chemicals.

Yeah you might just wanna give up on those, but they look like alright shrooms to me. To tell you the truth, I don't think they will hurt you in any way. But they may make you feel like you are dieing! That is just part of the experience though. Be careful whatever you do.

When in doubt, throw out, your health is important, you can always find/buy/gorw more mushrooms. There is no pf tek for your health . For some reason I can't see the pics, maybe if you can upload them to the shroomery... you don't have to, but if you want me to look at them.

Got a question about a substance? Erowid might already have your answer! Have questions about the mushroom experience? The Tripper's FAQ may have your answer or someone else might have had your question before. I know up on the top you are seeing great sights, but down at the bottom we, too, should have rights.

Next time you store shrooms in the fridge, make sure they are uncovered and not sealed in a baggie or plastic container like most people do. I find that when I leave my shrooms on a rack in the fridge exposed and uncovered, they will dry before they rot which is great if I dont eat them as planned, they will just dry from the compression and circulation of the fridge.
As far as those shrooms...its kind of a toss up. Nobody here wants to tell you to eat something that very well may get you sick but chacnes are if somebody were to eat those, they would be fine. Some molds will do nothing at all, some bacteria will actually destroy the psilocybin, others will get you sick and you will still trip (which wouldt be pleaseant) We would really have to know what strain of mold those shrooms have been exposed too for us to give you an honest certain answer. There was once a time when I would scarf those things down at the state they are in now but I have means of obtaining shrooms that I dont need to eat something that looks edgy. Boiling into a tea will minimize the chances but wont ensure them...it's your choice and do watever you want withem knowing that.

Alright thanks for the good advice psillynilly. Heres what i just did..
i took out the really bad looking ones that were like pure black or faded green and put them in a seperate bag. I also ate one of the bad looking stems (it was small). That way if i get sick, i wont eat them later, and i wont be tripping in case i do get sick. I'm also going to leave them in teh bag for another week or two, and if tehy look the same ill eat them.. that way ill give the mold a chance to grow if there is any.
The only thing im worried about is dying as long as the chances of dying from mold are very low, then i dont mind taking the chances of getting sick.
Thanks again guys for the tips

It's hard to tell from a picture, but there are no obvious problems to me. One darkish bulb at the left in the middle picture--I'd consider tossing that one.
Washing should remove any minor stuff that's just on the surface, right? The big problem with mold, as I understand it, is when it infects the culture, rice cake, or whatever. Then toxins might get into the fruiting bodies without being visible.
Anyway, it's good that you asked when in doubt.
