very strange golden teacher
    #4026221 - 04/07/05 12:47 PM (18 years, 11 months ago)

-this guy showed up on my cake 4-5 days ago, so technically it should be almost mature compared to the other teacher cakes and when theyve been finishing. the problem is this thing is so fucked up i feel like i might not know when to pick it. all the other pins have normal looking cap formation, but this one has been flat like that all along, just a big golfball shroom. is this a mutant or what?

pretty normal otherwise though you think? it looks soo much different than the rest, it exites me immensely, haha. my friend and i decided itll be more like a button than a shroom once its picked.

He reminds me of president Taft for some reason. If I were you, I would wait to pick the other mushrooms when they are ready, and observe him very closely to see if his growth has mostly stopped at that point.  When it has, it's time for president fatass to finish up his term, and you should pick him.

Also, are those the only two pins that have shown up on your cake?  What flush are you on, and do the other cakes have more pins?

(Advice from a lowly intermediate)

Mutants can be very cool.  Check out this bad boy:

(Looked like 3 mushrooms growing together when it was fruiting.)

yeah the other cakes do have more pins. im *pretty* sure its the second flush for that guy, shame on me for not knowing for sure. they werent all birthed at quite the same time so i lost track. i figured the fat guy is just taking up any energy that would be there for other pins?

also, the coulple other pins that formed on the same cake didnt appear till a few days later, so it seems like i should expect the fatass to finish before them

hey yall, i wanted to throw in some updated pics of these bizarre golden teachers. should i pick them now? the picture im about to post in the next thread has a shroom that hasnt gained any size for a day or so now, but since cap is flat that way its not indicating anything. are these just mutants for sure, or could there be something wrong w/ them? thanks for any advice in advance

Yes, definitely time to pick those. The caps are turned upwards.

I had a golden teacher strain mushroom which grew upside down. The cap was attached to the cake and the stem was curled up and pointing outwards from the cake. I have pics I'll have to upload them. Those are cool mutations you have though, nice en' fat.

I know, I've been watching the thread. I can tell you they aren't going to grow any further, you should harvest now. Your fat asses are mature. Doesn't look like a good spore load, you're better off cloning them.
