San Pedro in Crock Pot?
    #4025897 - 04/07/05 01:30 PM (11 years, 7 months ago)

I tried a San Pedro extraction last weekend but failed....
Here is the attempted method
1)Cut cacti in half
2)Removed inner core and then scraped all the of "meat" of the cactus out.
3)Mixed the "meat" with 1/3 lemon juice 2/3 water
4) Boiled for approximately 30 minutes 3 times straining between each
5) Boiled down the liquid to shot size
6) Drank..... only felt very mild effects... possibly placebo
I plan on attempting the extractioin again this weekend. What went wrong? I'm thinking I just didn't allow enough time to get all the chemicals out.... so I'm considering just placing the cactus pulp in a crock pot w/ 1/3 lemon juice 2/3 water and letting it go for about 24 hours. Will this work? Is there a point where temp. destroys the mescaline? Please help me out =).

When i extracted my pedro a couple years back, it was way more than a shot glass worth and it took a lot longer to boil. I cut it into sections, discarded the skin, cut into stars slices (like a cucumber), blended em, boiled it for a really long time (5+ hours if i remember correctly), and then strained it to get about 2 cups worth of sludge. It worked really good with 18" of pedro. How much did you use? Sorry i don't have more specific info on my extraction experience, but it was a long time ago.

use more cacti? what was the size?
cook longer
careful not to burn
don't know if straining 3 times would do anything.?

you need to cook longer than you did but not 24 hours,
