Finally an impressive casing!

Made this guy from 1 whole large bag of colonized rye (EQ). Did this a little differently than normal.
I originally had a perlite chamber, and the myc fully colonized the whole casing before pinning. After I got my ultrasonic/ martha style chamber going, I covered the casing in another layer of 70/30 verm/peat, cold shocked for 40 hours.
Day after the cold shock, big boys blastin out. Harvested today (about a week later) 214 grams total with two other big guys I picked a couple days before.

Love your casing container. Last time I went to the ER, I walked with 10 of them, and a box of latex gloves. Nice shrooms. Peace,Love,Happiness and Harmony. Hippie Chick

Hhahaa...I found that in my house in a closet filled with sandpaper and nails.
Works good, I also have another casing going in a Qdoba take-out container and it seems to be going very well. Next time I get lunch there I am going to ask if I can take a dozen trays from them.

You're the only one who catches me, dirty old man, lol. Hey Agar, hope you're having a great day. Found a source for poo. Training track for thoroughbreeds, big pile and it looks like it's almost composted. Pure poo but looks like potting soil. Has to be a pile the size of a large tool shed. That's just at one of the stables, there are 10 stables. Met the owners today, they told me to take as much as I wanted whenever I wanted. Peace,Love,Happiness and Harmony. Hippie Chick

Ya overlayed with pins!!! Very impressive pinset. Again not overlayed bro and once again overlayed casings produce little to no pins, I really don't understand where you you got your concept of overlay? It is odd to say the least.
-------------------- Getting the most out of your casings!, A pinning strategy. Oyster Shell "Flour" $2 for 1lb. a hell of a deal Not what is overlay but rather what overlay is Gas Exchange vs. FAE "We all have priorities. I used a closet once setup a nice little lab trouble was all the shit that was in there ended up in the bedroom that pissed off the GF then I ended up dumping her as she was getting in the way of my sterile culture technique! Ya I got priorities too!!!"

hyphae, If you look at the botton left corner at about a 4inch diagonal area, i scratched the casing. its darker then the rest showing more of the casing. Also the casing is pure peat aboput 1/4 inch thick. I want to run it about 1 inch think but i didnt have enopugh peat.

no kronny, he said he had a perlite chamber then switch to martha and cold shocked and finally got a impressive flush. I have had nothing but crap with perlite/rub chambers I think because I get some pins not a lot and 90% mature. Not a humidity problem cause got some white fluffyness, indicator of high RH and temp is 73-75. I think really bad air circulation also from those pics u looked at i didn't have overlay. light, RH, temp, overlay, all not problems. I thinks it air circulation. I open to air min 3 times a day. wondering if martha is worth the cost.

Primo man! Did you say you had pins the day after cold shocking? Hmmmm...maybe i should try cold shocking for longer. Seems like my casings sit in the fruiter for days (and days) before i saw signs of pins.
