Using spores instead of spawn for dung

I've only ever used PF jar-based substrates, but I've had enough experience now that I want to try my hand at dung-based substrates in bags, sometime in the near future. Intermediate though I may be, I've not yet reached the level of creating spawn on agar for syringes.
So my question is a simple one: all of the info I've seen so far relating to dung involves the use of spawn instead of spores. Can I use spores instead? (Obviously I can); but are there any major disadvantages to this method?
Also, what type of dung mix (+straw? +vermiculite?) do you guys prefer and/or think is the best?
Thanks

Why is it obvious you CAN. You just said..all the info youve seen so far relating to dung involves the use of spawn instead of spores. Theres a REASON for this. Spores wont germ well on the poo if at all..it will usually end in failure.
PF jars, make excellent spawn for dung though.

I said it is obvious I can because this is one of the ways it happens in nature. When you say PF jars make excellent spawn for dung, are you talking about transferring colonized PF substrate into the dung?

u know I wonder why this is. When they found Pan. Cyan's and what ever they said they found them growing on dung. Was it because it being fresh or what. I would think the spores would have to germinate on it.

Nature, is not indoor cultivation. Nature also doesnt pasteurize or sterilize..it doesnt have to. You can't compare to what happens in nature, to what happens inside in different conditions. You wont get spores to germinate and colonize any decent amount of poo before contams set in..most likly.
Gniom...just the same as horse poo makes a great pan cyan substrate..I've read they arent naturally found in horse pastures...usually cow, buffalo ect...yet those things straight, indoors, make poor substrates. Again, were talking indoors, not nature.
Yes, I mean you can transfer colonized PF cakes (crumbled) into dung, just like any other colonized substrate...it can be used as spawn..mix with bulk..let colonize fully, then case.

I know that but im just wondering why it will germinate on outdoor manure and not indoor. whats the big difference that would cause that?

Its not that it wont work at all..it could...it just doesnt work very WELL...how many times have you seen a peice of poo fruit like this:
Only a small part of the poo needs to colonize. Out in nature, it defends against contams naturally so it has all the time it wants to germinate and grow..and then only a little bit needs to colonize for it to fruit. Then mycelium spreads and spreads...faster and better then the spores. Plus the constant and good conditions are maintained perfectly by nature...better then in a jar or bag in your closet. Do you really want to wait 6 months and keep trying to rehydrate the poo that whole time its drying out like nature does with rain? Just so you can get a poo casing that you could have just mixed in PF cakes to start with and had it in 3 weeks?
Poo can work also with cake mixes..and spores will germ off it..I cant remember the recipe but its around somewhere and its basically just like half pf cake and half horse poo or something...mixtures such as this...or poo in your grains (I add worm castings to my grains for the soak and simmer and in the jars) will all let spores germ WELL and will colonize well and quickly..
