Oh, I feel sick. Found a jar today that seemed to have stalled, the verm/rice was a little slimy and it was growing slow. Took a closer look and found a fly buzzing in there, and took an even closer look to see <barf> maggot moving around in there. They were PC'd for an hour at 15psi, injected with honey water that has worked fine before. What happened? Must have been the honey water or something else? Other jars are OK, maybe the mycelium grew too fast for the maggots. Or is possible they somehow flew in the holes and into the substrate? I've read other posts about this happening, but I used the Ramsey seal so I'm not quite sure they could get through that. Need input please Thanks Grover -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- "What did you dream...it's all right we told you what to dream! Ive had it happen before friend. While one was inspecting his jars 1 single gnat/fruit fly thing buzzed around and just briefly landed on a jar lid, 3 days later to my suprise half of the box had been infected with maggots and when the box was opened a few flys came out. So yah a fly probably got to you. darkfly

Ten uninnoculated jars were in the same cabinet, I moved them to another one hopefully that'll isolate them from being infected. On the other hand, it'd be damn hard for bugs to get in the uninnoculated ones becuase they don't have any needle holes and the bugs would have to work their way up through the threads of the foil/jar, which I think would be very difficult almost impossible Wonder if that's enough Grover

I have the same problem my friend! Some poopoo fly went in my jars and laid her eggs there now I have a few jars with lice or maggots, whatever you may want to call them. But I think the mycellium is going to take over since there are not too many of them and now most of them already turned into flies and just flew away. also I heard about h2o2 helping to kill the lice without harming the mycellium.
